Dear Subscriber First Name,

March is always a challenge up here in northern Vermont. It's a very physical experience — somewhat volatile, with swift moments of whimsy contrasted by that intense whack from the giant pothole you never saw coming. The warm air meets the cold, the cold pushes back, and the wind kicks up into a swirling chaos that lifts the chicken coop roof clean off. The once-soft layers of snow turn to sheer ice, and puddles freeze and thaw over and over again. The clocks change, the light lingers longer in a sudden shift, and I feel a wave of fatigue settle in for a time. My joints ache from the confrontational conversation between spring and winter. Up here, we live in the space between the seasons — where unpredictability rules, the land returns to the brown of stick season, and we watch the maple trees for any sign that this strange liminal space is passing.

Difficult things — horrific things — are happening all over the globe. And yet, I can feel the spells being cast. I can almost hear them in that whipping wind. Much like the confrontation of shifting seasons, something similar is happening in the collective. So many people are sending potent energy into the ether, working to throw malicious intent off balance. I get waves of knowing just how horrific it is for good people who never chose this — and yet, I know the spells are working.

For my own wellness, I have continued working on others through these wild times. I spend my days offering light touch to folks on my massage table — reaching into their nervous systems, listening deeply to the pulsing tides of their innermost state. I have quiet conversations with this place within them, and wait in presence for whatever needs to surface and unwind. There is nothing more comforting to me than listening to this place within the human body. The autonomic nervous system. The fascia. The incredible intelligence of all that we are made of. I learn something new in every session. This is where I return to the best of what humanity has to offer — and beyond the intelligence and wisdom, I find a pure reflection of a soul. It is such an honor to be trusted so deeply, and it reinforces my commitment to keeping my space safe for all who come.

I hold onto the knowing that working within this space — with every person who comes for a session — allows me to touch the threads of the collective: their ancestry, the long-held memories of trauma and pain carried in this world. Gently, ever so gently, I honor that for a moment, and watch it unwind and dethread from the body. I feel in my heart that this is the most powerful resistance I can offer against the machine of narcissism and abuse — reaching into the web, dethreading, recreating, opening pathways, offering love, presence, and witnessing.

While I sit in this little liminal space, I am also dreaming up what the yurt events might look like — small gatherings, retreats perhaps? The calendar is already posted and you can view it below. It will continue to grow as I update my website, create new offerings, and let new ideas come to fruition. I am so looking forward to true spring — but I know I'm not quite ready just yet.
