We have been growing this Calendula for almost a decade. Its resilience in our zone 3 area and it prolific growth year after year has been incredible. Gently remove flower heads for use to keep the plant flowering all summer and into the fall season. When grown in greenhouse soils this plant with act as a perennial and reseed itself in the spring.
Calendula grows well in pots too but loves the warm sun and fertile soils of the garden. It is an excellent flower for drying and storage. Calendula is also edible and medicinal as a digestive bitter herb. Sprinkle flower petals on meals and adorn desserts with golden flowers.
