In this full-day retreat, you'll learn to trace your ancestry using online tools like Ancestry.com while cultivating deep spiritual connection to the people, plants, and places you come from. Through guided meditation, Tarot, creative mapping, mediumship practices, and herbal wisdom, you'll begin to uncover the stories that live within your bones — and hear the voices that still echo through your lineage.

Whether you're brand new to family research or already have a few names on your tree, this workshop will help you discover the profound connections that span generations.

Framing the day:

  • 9:15am Arrival - check in, settle in, take a walk.

  • 10am start time - Opening Circle & Ancestral Intention Setting - collaborative group space setting

  • 10:30am - Introduction to Genealogical Research in the apothecary - Using Tarot for Ancestral Insight

  • 12:30pm Farm to Table Lunch

  • 1:30pm - Plants are our ancestors in the yurt - Initiation into working consciously with plants - tea ceremony with a plant

  • Consciously dreaming with your ancestors - stories and ways we can heal

  • 3:30pm - working with ancestor altars - how to create and make your own elements to add to your altar

  • 5:30pm - offerings to ancestors at the medicine wheel 

  • 6:00pm potluck dinner (bring something to share) or head to the Genny or Blackbird Bistro on your way home.


What to bring:

Laptop or smartphone with ancestry.com app downloaded

Your parents birthdates, place or town of birth, and grandparents birth info (as much as you can)

Notebook or journal

Pen or pencil

Water bottle

Comfortable and cozy layers

Any items that offer extra comfort, blanket, pillow, etc.


The space:

Together we will utilize both the apothecary in the farmhouse at the start of the day and also the yurt with a wood stove after lunch. Chairs, pillows, yoga mats, and some blankets are provided. We also encourage you to bring your own for maximum comfort. 

The space for this retreat is intentionally held as a safe and loving space for you to navigate into your ancestry, ethics and confidentiality within our space is crucial. Together we will set an even deeper intention to keep each other well and comfortable in moving through ancestral work and all that it can bring to the surface.

$365 for the full day of offerings and a nourishing lunch.

To ensure an intimate and well-held experience, this retreat is designed for a small group of 6–10 participants. In the unlikely event that minimum enrollment is not met, you will be contacted by September 19th, 2026. Registration includes a non-refundable $75 deposit to reserve your space and cover preparation costs. In the rare event minimum enrollment is not met, the remaining balance will be fully refunded and you will receive a complimentary consultation from Sarah as our thank you for your trust and commitment.

Sarah Young of Spirited Places

Sarah is a practicing Clairvoyant Medium who brings healing to others by communicating with those who have passed on who may need to share messages and information with their loved ones. Sarah also visits sites and homes to help others understand who the spirits are that dwell in their homes or on their land for clarity and healing on all sides. She is also an artist who creates a unique, personalized work as an offering with her sessions of what she may have experienced or seen during a reading. Diana Hansen of Mountain Hollow Medicinals

Diana is a Reiki Master Teacher specializing in Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki, Somatic Herbalism & Healing. She founded Mountain Hollow in 2015 with the intention of working to create a safe space for people to learn and heal on their own terms. Diana has spent her life half in this world and half in spirit. With a long ancestry of magic and spirituality Diana carries a clear wisdom that she uses to support others in moving forward on their life path. Wether it be for just and hour or a six month course, Diana strives to help others unwind and unravel their trauma to liberate their path.
