Moments with eagles.
November 2018
Today I had received some messages from some of my guides. For some reason I was more aware of them as they came in.
The first was when I grabbed a random mason jar lid from the drawer in my kitchen holding hundreds of them. I walked over to the jar after blindly grabbing one, flipped it over, and as I screwed it on I saw there was a gray wolf looking at me. A sticker with a drawing of a wolf. She was watching me.
The second was when I got stuck behind a very slow moving Jeep. Just as I had a clear moment to pass him I simultaneously noticed the giant eagle image on his rear spare tire. It was staring right at me and weirdly stopped me in my tracks. I never passed him.
The third was on the way home. Driving down the highway I suddenly noticed a lot of crows moving about. Just after I noticed them, the largest bald eagle I’ve ever seen (and that’s saying a lot!) flew in front of me. I gasped so loudly at its size. It’s feet and head were an absolute pure white. So stunning. It landed in a tree close enough that he flashed me a look as I drove by.
Tonight as I drew a bath for Amara I looked up at this photograph I took a few years ago of a twelve year old bald eagle. His presence was so overwhelming to me that there was nothing to do but stand there with my mouth open. I did however instinctively bow my head to him...what I never expected was for him to bow back in return. To be acknowledged by him in that way was a gift.
