The glowing golden tamaracks.
November 2018
Now that we are moving into the darkest season of the year I’ve noticed the spaciousness of the forest.
In the spaces where the leaves once were is now an openness, an expanded perception. I can see deeper into the forest. I can see the deer moving about, the crooked bodies of the old maple trees and my eyes widen a bit.
With this newfound visibility comes more clairvoyance, a sharper vision and connection to the other worlds we may not normally see.
Today I drove past the very spot where I first gazed upon some kind of elemental creature that has no comparison to another. It’s earthy brown winged body was draped down and hovering in front of me. Larger than a song bird, smaller than a falcon. So unrecognizable to my human eye that my mind drew a blank, my voice silenced and I held my breath.
But my heart knew right away what it was. Something so wonderful and beautiful, a gift from the forest herself. A sweet creature unseen by the reckless human species.
As I drove around today and gazed in delight at the glowing golden tamaracks, I thought of that creature. I smiled at the incredible energy moving out from these bright beings all around. I wondered if I was the only one driving around listening to these trees.
