When the season shifts.

August 2018

The season is shifting already.

It’s not the cooler nights that tipped me off to this. It was the crows. About two weeks ago the crows caught my attention. First they woke me up at an ungodly hour in the am squawking like geese. The next day I noticed them in the field behind my house making a racket, flying around in large groups. I watched them closely, clearly they were up to no good and I snickered. They holler at me when I’m in the yurt and I yell back telling them “I hear you!”. Every year they seem to let me know when the season is about to shift.

Since noticing this I’ve been harvesting, clearing beds and cutting back. Feels like the cold might come early this year.
