Stitch, Knit, Mend and Weave: A Creative Activism Circle
Stitching image from Badass Cross Stitch - Shannon Downey
In a world that often feels fractured, we invite you to join a monthly gathering in our serene yurt, nestled within an elder apple and pear orchard. Here, where wisdom meets nature, the simple act of stitching becomes a powerful metaphor for personal and social transformation. This intimate creative circle combines the meditative practice of embroidery and mending with meaningful dialogue about social change and healing. We will practice our techniques and encourage each other to expand our skillset while working on steps to empower each other to step into our inner activist self.
Each month, we come together to:
Learn and practice traditional embroidery and mending techniques
Learn basic foundational ways to begin knitting
Create a supportive space for personal reflection and growth
Engage in thoughtful discussions about social justice and community action
Learn key ways to support yourself in acts of community healing and wellness
Transform our individual experiences into collective wisdom and strength
We welcome anyone who identifies as feminine who:
Seek authentic connection beyond surface-level interactions
Feel called to create positive change in their communities
Are on a journey of self-discovery and healing
Want to reclaim their creative voice and personal power
Are searching for a creative practice to lessen daily anxiety and stress
