New Moon Sound Baths

Join Diana in the yurt for a new moon sound healing guided meditation with tibetan sound bowls. These sound baths are held every month during the season the yurt is open.

The sound waves from these bowls move through the body creating balance and harmony while stimulating the body to heal. As you move into a deeply relaxed and restful state and into the subconscious, you gain access to releasing stress and stepping away from the egoic mind. In this restful state, the body can give more energy to healing areas in need.

Working with these bowls can provide clarity and relief from physical pain as it cleanses and reassembles cells. They support anxiety relief, release of tension and emotional blockages to come back to a centered self.

The new moon is a time where we may need to practice extra self care, allow more restfulness, and to spend time going inward. This is a time where, in particular for women, our immunity is lower than usual and taking extra care is important. During the new moon our bodies ask us to slow down, and it is a good time to work on a creativity and wellness.

Join Diana for a 45 minute guided meditation with four sound bowls in our beautiful yurt. Hot tea will be served. A yoga mat and blanket will be provided. Please bring extra blankets, a pillow, a flashlight, and anything that you can use for comfort and warmth to lay down on the floor.

Introduction to Sound Healing

Screen Shot 2019-10-26 at 5.09.50 AM.png

In this 2-hour introductory workshop we will go over theory, history, benefits, do live demonstrations, and have a live sound meditation! Sound therapy can be profoundly healing for nearly all common complaints because it works at the roots of disease and discomfort - vibrating away stagnant energy, tension, and cellular toxins while allowing the body to come into harmonious alignment. In this way, it can be used as a preventative or a cure. The beautiful tones considered sacred by many Eastern traditions act to relax the body and mind, bringing us into a deep meditative state where we can let go of the day to day and gain clarity on our paths. Combined with the energetic and cellular clearing, sound therapy is often experienced as a reawakening. Come see for yourself how easy it is to free yourself, friends, and loved ones of the most painful and troublesome health concerns and see how easy it is to relax, reset, and reawaken!

This workshop was taught by Kirk Jones, Certified Master Sound Healer, International Academy of Sound Healing.

Originating in India over 5000 years ago,  Ayurveda is a fully holistic healing modality that  places emphasis on the five elements of nature and  in helping us identify  practices that allow us to live in harmony with nature. Ayurveda stresses disease prevention and simple tools that help us find balance in every season in any environment. Ayurveda helps individuals  deeply understand the workings of nature and how these forces influence our own unique nature. Through this understanding, we are given the keys to invite a balanced life of tranquility and harmony in body, mind and consciousness. One that is unique to each individual.

In our time together we will explore this ancient science and highlight   simple lifestyle  practices that help bring wellness into your daily life. Breathwork For Regeneration

Screen Shot 2019-10-26 at 4.41.27 AM.png

Our breath is the sacred key to unlocking the depths of our own psyche, the unconscious and our full capacity to feel our stored emotions. Breathwork is a simple and profound practice that opens up the gateway for deep cathartic healing through simple breathing techniques. The practice is typically done laying down and in a safe environment where one is free to express themselves through making sound. Often times physical sensations arise in the body and participants may feel a change in temperature (so bring a blanket) as well as experience an intense emotional release. This journey begins with the breath and is carried on as a personal exploration. The sound of the singing bowls help to steep into the body and unlock resistance as well as melt you into safe space and deep peace.

Some people experience visions, insight on past life karma, this lifetime trauma release, states of bliss, physical sensations and major breakthroughs. Please come with an open mind.

The Breathwork Experience is not suggested for those with heart problems or high blood pressure.

Tincture Making

Come learn how to safely and successfully make your own medicinal tinctures during peak growing season with Marielle Fisher from Dharma Herbs and Wellness.

We will ground in with a plant meditation before mixing up two tinctures together utilizing different methods of medicine making; the folk method and the more scientific. This experiential class will offer the opportunity to sample several different tinctures while we learn to preserve our green allies. Participants will leave with detailed worksheets so they can clearly replicate the process on their own and have questions answered along the way.

This work shop was offered by Marielle Fisher of Dharma Herbs and Wellness. Marielle is an ecological herbalist and certified Biofield Tuner thankful to roam the hills of northern Vermont. She’s passionate about cultivating health by weaving ancient wisdom with modern modalities.

Upon receiving her first few Biofield Tuning sessions, she was elated by the level of clarity experienced. She trained with the founder, Eileen McCusick, soon after, and is now on the path to becoming a teacher of the modality.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in ecological agriculture from the University of Vermont, she loved the two years spent studying herbalism with the Gaia School of Healing and Earth Education. She’s a certified permaculture designer, and is currently apprenticing with a shamanic healer in northern Vermont.

She is deeply interested in how traditional foods align with local nutrition, and is grateful to draw upon the teachings of the Liberate School and the 200 hour yoga teacher training she completed as well. Her offerings as an herbalist are rooted with plants which are most available and abundant in this bioregion, and she would love to share a cup of tea with you.

Flower Essences & Land As Medicine

In this workshop you will learn about the history and philosophy of Flower Essences. We will discuss topics listed below:

  • how essences work and why

  • essences versus homeopathy

  • how to choose an essence

  • dowsing for an essence

  • communicating with plants

  • how plant energetics work within our energetic body

  • how to make an essence yourself

  • how to infuse with minerals

  • how land is medicine

  • how to make a land essence

We will make a flower essence together from the gardens here at Mountain Hollow, and learn how the dilution process works. Everyone will leave with an essence to begin working with. I hope to make a land essence from our location for all to have as well and would love feedback on any experiences you notice in the following weeks and months.

We will also discuss dosage and the many ways to use the essences once you have them. Also relevant resources and links to further your knowledge and deepen your practice if you wish to do so.

Within the discussion of this workshop we will be talking in depth about the land around you, where you live or work and how the plants in that space are medicine for you. We will incorporate the ancestral indigenous knowing that all dis-ease stems from a lack of connection to nature and the plants, and practices to support you in deepening your intuition and listening to the plants around you.

 Japanese Shinrinyoku Or Forest Bathing

Japanese Shinrinyoku Or Forest Bathing

The Japanese concept of Shinrinyoku or Forest Bathing promotes the health benefits of spending time in nature (especially a forested setting) just being present, slowing down, and observing natural surroundings with all of our senses.

Rebecca will guide us on a forest walk involving slow, quiet walking with the invitation to focus on a particular sense or activity (for example- notice what is moving, observe the light and darkness, spend time touching trees/moss/water...). After each invitation the group will come together and share observations before moving onto a new sense. This guided walk ends by sharing a cup of tea made from some representative plants from the area.

This workshop was facilitated by Rebecca Beidler from Peace of Earth Farm
Peace of Earth is a small farm in Albany, VT dedicated to building soil and growing tasty nutrient filled food. We strive to use the wisdom of natural systems as our guide.

rebecca_frey.jpg

We are in the process of developing our gardens and improving the soil without using mechanical tillage. Instead we create gardens with the help of chickens, pigs, and sheet mulching. Sheet mulching involves covering the ground with a barrier layer that will break down within a season (cardboard or newspaper) topped with composted manures and mulch layers.  This smothers weeds, adds fertility and keeps the soil covered.

We do not use pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. We prefer to plant organic and open pollinated seeds as much as possible so that we can save our own seeds and keep a wide variety of delicious heirloom varieties alive.

We grow sprouts and shoots year round for sale at local stores and restaurants.  We also offer Community Supported Agriculture shares June-October.  Mushrooms are a new venture for us, we hope to have shiitakes for sale in 2016.  A wide variety of fruits have also been planted on the farm and over time will be a larger part of our offerings, perhaps some in the pick your own format.
